Then the LORD said to Moses, “Why do you cry out to me? Tell the Israelites to get moving. (Exodus 14:15 CEB)
I really do love YHWH in this story. I’ve been that voice with children. “You can tie your shoes. What are you looking at me for?”
YHWH is pushing Moses out of his fear. When we are afraid, we forget the abilities that the Gardener has nurtured in ourselves. One would think in this urgent moment that YHWH would say, get out of the way, then. But no. YHWH is not anxious and does not take over from Moses. This is incarnation, working through us especially when we think we are not able.
